Information desk
A information desk is available in the main hall of the airport. The reception staff can inform travelers and accompanying persons about their flight, their experience at the airport or the formalities to be completed. Do not hesitate to call on them.
ATMs, banks, exchange
International bank card holders (Visa, Mastercard) have the option of withdrawing money from ATMs at the airport. These distributors distribute banknotes in Rwandan francs (RWF).A bureau de change can also obtain Rwandan francs in exchange for international currencies upon your arrival in Kigali.
  • Bank of Kigali: ATM open 24/7 on the car park and agency inside the terminals (opening hours: Monday to Friday from 6h to 20h, Saturday from 6h to 11h and 15h to 18h, Sunday from 6am to 11am).
  • Ecobank: ATM open 24/7
  • Express Forex Bureau: currency exchange and money transfers, open 24/24.

VIP Lounge
Three VIP lounges are available at Kigali International Airport: two for departing passengers and one for passengers on arrival. Access is restricted to business and first-class travelers from certain airlines and VIP card holders. It is also possible to access them punctually by paying access fees.
  • The Pearl Lounge: for departing passengers. One-time access possible for $US30.
  • The Rwandair Dream Lounge: this new lounge reserved for Rwandair passengers (business class and frequent flyers) can accommodate under the best conditions up to 100 passengers waiting to board.
  • The Arrival Lounge: this small lounge with a capacity of 25 passengers is intended to accommodate passengers on arrival when they are waiting for their luggage.

Internet
Rwanda is a model all over the world for its willingness to provide everyone with fast and free internet access. Kigali International Airport is no exception to this rule and has free wifi access points throughout the airport area. In addition, the country has several 4G operators marketing SIM cards without subscription and 3G USB keys for cheap and fast internet access on your PC, tablet or phone. These SIM cards are available and can be activated in several shops at the airport.
Stores and duty free shops
Several shops are available within the airport, both in the international duty free zone and in the public halls. Books, international press, souvenirs, jewelery, handicrafts, ready-to-wear, postcards and stamps, telephony and electronics, perfume, alcohol and tobacco are all products offered to travelers and their companions.
  • Souvenirs of Rwanda: In the departure lounge, the shop offers souvenirs, ready-to-wear and Rwandan handicrafts.
  • Viva Duty Free: alcohol, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, food, souvenirs.
  • Flemingo Duty Free: the international chain of duty free shops. Alcohol, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics, food, souvenirs.
Post office
To send your letters, postcards and parcels, for your purchases of stamps and for the reception and sending of money transfers (Western Union), the IPOSITA post office of the Kigali Kanombe international airport welcomes you every day from 5:00 to 10:00 and from 11:00 to 15:00.

Police & security
Kigali Intl. Airport is always concerned about the safety of passengers and aircraft. The police of the airport listen to all travelers. Security officers also ensure compliance with international standards. You can call them to report any suspicious activity. In addition, we remind you that leaving luggage unattended can cause its destruction and prosecution against you.

Luggage wrapping
To strengthen and protect your luggage from bumps, scratches or theft, a paying luggage wrapping service is available in the check-in area of the Kigali-Kanombe airport hall. Two wrapping stations are proposed to passengers.

Luggage scales
Each airline flying to Rwanda impose a different baggage allowance. It is important that every traveler comply with those rules under threat of being required to pay excess baggage fees that can be prohibitive. It is therefore recommended to weigh your luggage before you get to the airport. However, it is possible to weigh them on the balances available at check-in counters in order to lighten them if necessary.
Cabin baggage
Just like checked baggage, cabin baggage must meet a maximum size and weight. Airlines propose in the check-in area boxes to check if your cabin baggage meets the standards. Some passengers try at the time of boarding to carry more or different bags that those validated at check-in. They are exposed to leave their bags at the airport or to pay excess baggage fees in addition to delay the takeoff to the detriment of all travelers.
Last minute tickets
Passengers who have not had the time to buy their plane ticket or have missed their flight have the opportunity to buy on the spot (at generally higher rates) their trip to the airlines. You can also inquire about the hotel fleet, stays and tours in Rwanda at the Tourist Office.

Health
To ensure the comfort of its travelers and visitors, Kigali Airport offers a medical service for health emergencies (presence of defibrillators and trained staff) ). Sanitary emergencies are in service 24/24. For the most serious cases, an evacuation is organized to a hospital structure of the city.
Baggage disputes
In case of loss, theft or damage related to luggage carried by travelers, you can contact in priority the airline with which you have traveled. Upon arrival at Kigali Airport, contact the airline representative who will take care of your claim.
Bars and restaurants
The airport has bars and restaurants in the main lobby and in the boarding area. You can eat there or consume various drinks, sodas or mineral waters. Fast food (sandwiches) is also available 24/24. The airport area, less than 5 minutes away by taxi, also hosts a large number of restaurants.
  • Bourbon Coffee: The Rwandan chain has two establishments within the airport. Sleek and stylish are two of the many adjectives that best describe these bourbon coffee shops, one at the departure lounge and the other in the waiting area downstairs at Kigali international airport.
